Non-Hermitian skin effect in a one-dimensional interacting Bose gas

چکیده
Non-Hermitian skin effect (NHSE) is a unique feature studied extensively in noninteracting non-Hermitian systems. In this paper, we extend the NHSE originally discovered systems to interacting many-body by investigating an exactly solvable model, i.e., prototypical Lieb-Liniger Bose gas with imaginary vector potential. We show that model can also be solved through Bethe ansatz. By solving ansatz equations accurately, explicit eigenfunction obtained, and model's density profiles momentum distributions are calculated characterize quantitatively. find gradually suppressed on repulsive side but does not vanish as interaction strength increases. On attractive side, for bound-state solutions enhanced grows. contrast, scattering state shows nonmonotonic behavior side. Our paper provides example of systems, envision it extended other especially integrable models.

Weakly interacting Bose gas in the one-dimensional limit.
We prepare a chemically and thermally one-dimensional (1D) quantum degenerate Bose gas in a single microtrap. We introduce a new interferometric method to distinguish the quasicondensate fraction of the gas from the thermal cloud at finite temperature. We reach temperatures down to kT≈0.5ℏω(⊥) (transverse oscillator eigenfrequency ω(⊥)) when collisional thermalization slows down as expected in ...

We conjecture that a two-dimensional anyon system reduces, when confined to a narrow channel, to a one-dimensional bose gas with a repulsive two-body δ-function interaction. We verify this conjecture in first-order perturbation theory near bosons. If the channel width is reduced to zero, the one-dimensional system is fermionic for all anyons other than bosons. متن کاملCooling of a One-Dimensional Bose Gas.
We experimentally study the dynamics of a degenerate one-dimensional Bose gas that is subject to a continuous outcoupling of atoms. Although standard evaporative cooling is rendered ineffective by the absence of thermalizing collisions in this system, we observe substantial cooling. This cooling proceeds through homogeneous particle dissipation and many-body dephasing, enabling the preparation ...

متن کاملSolitons in a one-dimensional interacting Bose-Einstein system
A modified Gross-Pitaevskii approximation was introduced recently for bosons in dimension d ≤ 2 by Kolomeisky et al. (Phys. Rev. Lett. 85 1146 (2000)). We use the density functional approach with sixth-degree interaction energy term in the Bose field to reproduce the stationary-frame results of Kolomeisky et al. for a one-dimensional Bose-Einstein system with a repulsive interaction. We also fi...
